What’s Your Energy ROI?Sep 20, 2019
Are you getting a good ROI on your energy?
Your energy is your most precious resource. Think of everything you expend energy on as an investment; are you getting a solid return on your investment?
If you had the choice between investing in a stock that’s steadily rising and pays great dividends, or one that’s trending downwards and losing its investors lots of money, which would you pick? It’s truly that simple.
When you focus your energy on people and things that are resonant with you, you’ll earn a great return — your energy will increase and you’ll be lit up. But if you use up energy on people and activities that are dissonant (AKA you’re not on the same wavelength and you feel drained), you’ll have little energy yet to apply to what really matters to you. Talk about a bad investment.
Get curious about where you’re investing your energy and what kind of return you’re getting on it. Evaluate how you feel after a phone conversation with a friend, a date, or a meeting at work. Are you excited and energized or do you feel zapped of energy? If it’s the latter, it’s time to rethink what you’re doing. Are you getting a good return on your energy investment? If not, it’s time to reallocate your energetic portfolio!
